Nils Pearson was an EN3 aboard Lipan from 1952 to 1953.

"Dusty" looking shot of Lipan in drydock in Jan. '53 w/o 3" gun .  `  At this point the crew was quartered on a barracks barge.  I was assgned as one of the ship's drivers, we had an International Gas Bus (school type) for chow hall runs and a jeep for Tripler Hospital, geedunk, movie and errand runs.

L to R Roy McKenzie from MO & Nils Pearson in the Navy Yards Pearl Harbor July 1952 on Sunday just before going to church.  Nils writes that Roy wanted to be a race car driver.  Hmmmm ... one in blues and one in whites?  Nils said its because they went to different churches.  Sure.
